AI visibility for Norwegian tourism

Be the place AI recommends.

Your guests ask AI before they ask you. Lykt shows who gets recommended, in every market and in the guest’s own language, and what to do to make it into the answer.

One family, three questions, real answers

The Becker family from Hamburg is planning July in Norway.

We put the family’s three questions to ChatGPT, from Germany and in German. Under each answer you can see who AI recommended and which sources it linked to.

01Where do we stay? ChatGPT, Germany

“Wo kann man mit Kindern am Fjord in Westnorwegen übernachten? Wir suchen etwas Ruhiges direkt am Wasser, im Juli.”

In English: Where can we stay with kids by a fjord in western Norway? Somewhere quiet, right on the water, in July.

What we see · 7 citations

AI steered the family away from Flåm itself and towards Balestrand. Tjugum Hytter was cited from its own German page.

With Lykt: Three things to do this month

Who wrote the answers? · Germany

3 of 28

citations went to the businesses’ own websites. AI doesn’t rank websites. It reads a couple of sources it trusts and writes one answer with a few names.

The sources behind the Becker family’s three answers

  • Destination companies and Visit Norway 19
  • Booking sites and reviews 6
  • The businesses’ own websites 3

The family is made up. The questions and answers are real: ChatGPT with web search, asked from Germany in German, 23 September 2026, one run per question. Answers vary between runs.

The shortlist gets made in the AI answer now.

  • AI chooses and gives its reasons.

In its answer to the Becker family, ChatGPT steered them away from Flåm itself in July and recommended Balestrand. Advice like that moves guests.

  • The booking happens somewhere else.

Guests rarely book in a chat. They book with whoever was recommended, often through a booking site that takes 15 to 20 percent commission.

  • Whoever is described best gets recommended.

In the guest’s language, in the sources AI trusts. You can do something about that, one thing at a time.

One map and three things to do

So, what do I have to do?

Less than you think. Lykt is made for people who run a place. We put your guests’ questions to AI, read the sources the answers are built on and compare them with what exists about you: your website, your Google profile and your listings with destination companies and booking sites. Out of that come three concrete things to do every month.

  1. We ask your guests’ questions The same questions your guests ask, in their language, in every market you sell to. On a schedule, every 30, 14 or 7 days, by plan.
  2. You see where you stand One map per market. Each cell shows whether AI mentions you, whether you share the spot, or whether it picks someone else.
  3. You do three things Three concrete tasks every month, picked where others take your spot today. On Vekst we write the drafts for you.

Questions we often get.

Is this SEO?

No. Google ranks pages in a list. AI reads a couple of sources it trusts and writes one answer with a few names in it. Ranking high on Google doesn’t mean you get mentioned.

Read the full difference between SEO and AI visibility

The example is one run. Is that enough?

No, and that’s why we measure on a schedule. Answers vary between runs. The example above shows what the answers look like. In the service we ask the same questions again, every 30, 14 or 7 days depending on the plan, in up to five AI engines, and show how you’re mentioned over time.

Do I need to be technical?

No. You get one map and three tasks a month, with checklists and emails. On Vekst and Program we write the texts, and you approve them before anything is published.

Which AI engines and markets do you measure?

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Basis measures three of them, Pro, Vekst and Program all five. Markets: Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Sweden, Denmark, and the ones you pick yourself, in the guest’s language.

What happens after the AI Check?

You get a short report within one working day: three questions in two guest languages, who was recommended, which sources the answer is built on and one concrete suggestion. No obligation.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. No lock-in, invoice, 30 days’ notice. You tell us by email, and we stop at the next due date. You keep access to the maps and reports for the period you’ve paid for.

Can I change plan?

You can move up to a bigger plan at any time, and we adjust it on the next invoice. If you move down, it applies from the next period. Your history in the map comes with you both ways, so you lose no measurements.

Where is the data stored, and who owns it?

All data is stored and secured on Nordic servers, in Finland. InfoFrame AS is the data controller, and we don’t sell data on. Your questions, answers and maps are yours, and you can ask for an export or deletion at any time. The details are in the privacy policy.

Why does AI recommend one business and not another?

AI recommends the one that’s described the same way in several sources it trusts: the Google profile, the destination company, booking sites and your own site. If you’re missing from several of them, it will often pick someone else.
