For hotels and accommodation

Your guest asks AI where to stay. We show whether the answer is you.

An AI answer recommends a few places and draws on a small set of sources. If you’re not in the sources, you’re rarely in the answer, and the guest books where AI points. We measure it per market and per season, and give you three things to do each month.

  1. One business Tourism businesses
The AI index, free for everyone The local share per region, the map and the method are published for everyone at the same time, planned for January 2027.

What it looks like today

Three things you already feel.

  • The booking site takes 15 to 20 percent

At an average room price of 1,468 kroner (NHO Reiseliv, first half of 2026), every night booked through a booking site costs you around 220 to 290 kroner in commission. If you’re recommended with your own site in the AI answer, the same guest can book directly with you. Four to five nights a month that come to you directly cover the Basis plan.

  • You already pay the destination company

The membership fee is there every year, and the destination company’s pages are the source AI reads most often. What decides it is whether your listing is complete enough for AI to dare use your name. We show which answers draw on the destination company, and what’s missing from your listing.

  • The guest asks in German, you measure in Norwegian

The answer is different in German than in Norwegian, different in Gemini than in ChatGPT, and different in February than in July. You can be doing well in Norwegian and be missing in the market that actually fills your low season. We measure in the language the guest asks in.

The map

What the map shows you.

The rows are your pillars: the place, the type of guest and the market. The columns are the engines, and each cell says “You’re mentioned”, “Shared answer” or “Not mentioned”, with the source mix underneath. In the example the place is mentioned in four of five engines, while the family guest and the German market are at “Not mentioned” in four of five, with a booking site in the source mix in each of them.

How to read the map, cell by cell

Three things, an example

Three tasks a month, picked from the map.

Never more than three tasks a month, ideally one in each lane (foundation, own pages, placement), picked from the cells at “Not mentioned” or “Shared answer” that are cheapest to win. This is what a month looks like for a place to stay.

Lykt Example
Three things this month
  1. checklist attached Fill in your Google profile with winter opening hours and six new photos
  2. draft ready Publish a family page in German, with prices, distances and what the kids can do
  3. email ready Ask the destination company to update your listing with the new facilities

Who writes the drafts: Basis: you. Pro: you, with templates. Vekst: we do. Program: we do.

From a real run · “Which hotel?”

No hotel site was cited.

We asked ChatGPT which family-friendly hotel by the fjord it recommends, in German, Dutch and English. The answers were built on booking sites and destination companies, not on the hotels’ own sites.
